QUILT VISIONS 2014 – The Sky’s the Limit

I was honored to receive the Thomas Contemporary Quilt Recognition Award at the Opening event of Quilt Visions 2014. The show continues to January 4, 2015 at the Visions Art Museum in San Diego. It’s a great show at a wonderful Museum. Hope you can attend!

When I had time to look at the Quilt Visions 2014 Catalog, I discovered that a close up of my quilt, Eleven 3 Eleven, named for the date of the tragedy in Fukushima, Japan, had been chosen as the title page for all of the quilts. What an honor!

Carrefour Européen Patchwork 2014, Ste Marie-aux-Mines, Alsace/France

My Quilt Cosmic Communication was awarded the Prix Apliquick in September 2014 in France. How exciting! I was not able to attend this wonderful event but the organizers sent me this image of my quilt with representatives of Apliquick.

Here is a detail image of Cosmic Communication. It is foundation pieced cottons and silks with my hand  appliquéd silks and my hand stitching.
